To optimize the power of your fan, hang your fan high. They work best when the blades are 7-9 feet above the floor and from 10-12 inches below the ceiling. If your ceiling is really high, use a down rod to bring it to the right height.”

When installing new ceiling fans it is important to get a properly sized fan based on the dimensions of that room. Larger fans (52″) are best for rooms up to 400 square feet. Smaller rooms under 225 square feet would benefit most with ceiling fans ranging from 42″ to 44″ in diameter.
